Structure of Church The following Boards and Committees are either currently functioning or in the process of being formalized. Corporate Board – Legally responsible for the corporation, determines pay-scale for employees, establishes the annual budget, establishes policies and procedures, and gathers information from committees for purposes of making decisions about funding activities and ministries and how they will be accomplished. Comprised of four or five church members acknowledged for their business astuteness and chaired by the Pastor. Finance Committee – Reviews the financial records and compares actual results with the budget. Reports findings to the Corporate Board. Recommends and oversees financial controls. Comprised of four or five financially astute church members of which a majority must be independent (non-employee and non-signer on bank accounts). Chaired by the CFO of the corporation. Outreach Committee – Investigates and decides what missions will be supported and how the Missions budget will be spent. Comprised of four or five church members with a demonstrated passion for missions and chaired by an Elder. Ministry Committee – Meets regularly with the Pastor to advise and influence the ministry of the church. Discusses the needs of the body and develops ideas on how to meet those needs. Committed to pray regularly for the body. Comprised of seven or eight church members who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to the spiritual well being of the body and chaired by the Pastor. Elders – Subordinate to the Pastor. In conjunction with the Pastor, exercises spiritual oversight over the body. Handles disciplinary matters, as needed. Resource for Pastor and shares in burden of achieving spiritual aims of the church. Called, appointed and anointed by the Pastor. |
